Frequently Asked Questions
I'm not getting bill reminders. What should I check?
First, make sure notifications are enabled for Bill Check in your device settings. Then open the bill and confirm a reminder is set (one or more "days before due" chips selected) and check the reminder time. Note that a reminder only fires if its moment is still in the future — if you add a bill after that day's reminder time has already passed, that particular reminder won't fire, but later ones will.
What time do reminders arrive?
Each bill has its own reminder time, which you choose on the add/edit screen (default 9:00 AM). A reminder fires that many days before the due date, at the time you picked.
Can I get more than one reminder for a bill?
Yes. On the add/edit screen you can select multiple "days before due" options — for example three days before, one day before, and on the due day. Each one sends its own notification.
What's the difference between a Fixed and a Variable bill?
A Fixed bill has the same amount every cycle (like rent). A Variable bill changes each month (like a utility) — you enter the amount for the current month from the dashboard, and the app remembers last month's value as a hint.
I marked a bill paid by mistake. How do I undo it?
In the "Paid" section, tap the bill and confirm in the popup to move it back to "Due Soon".
Is my data private?
Yes. All your bills and payment history are stored locally on your device only. We have no servers and cannot see your data. See our Privacy Policy for full details.
How do I change the app language or currency?
Open Settings inside the app to change the theme, language, and currency. On iOS, a language change takes effect the next time you launch the app.
The app is crashing or not loading.
Try force-closing and reopening the app. If the issue persists, reinstall Bill Check. If it still crashes, please email us with your device model and OS version.
